Spinning Disk Confocal Microscopy (SDCM) allows faster and more efficient 2D sectioning of live 3D samples compared to conventional Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopes.

  • Olympus IX81 inverted microscope mounted with 4x, 10x, 20x, 40x, 60x, 100x objective lenses
  • TwinCam module with Andor Ixon-897 EM-CCD and Andor Zyla (4.2) sCMOS cameras
  • Yokogawa CSU-X1 confocal scan-head (spinning disk) unit
  • FRAP-PA module for photobleaching (FRAP) and photoactivation experiments (PA)
  • 4 laser lines (405nm, 488nm, 561nm, 638nm)
  • Enviromental chamber to control CO2 levels and temperature
  • Acquisition software: Andor IQ3.6
  • Live cell imaging in Brightfield mode is also possible
